As Kentucky's only professional African American theatre company, Juneteenth Legacy Theatre has put the African-American experience and its legacy front and center for eight years to entertain and to educate ethnically diverse audiences. In order to enrich and to empower local artists, JLT has expanded the geographic range of its programming to New York City because it is the theater capital of the U.S. and Kentucky artists merit greater exposure, and because racism is a national malady.
